The summer here is starting early it seems. Temps this week have been reaching the 90's already. We don't usually get that hot until July and August. This is a bad sign and my AC isn't really happy about it. I've been leaving it on all day and it still is 87 when I get home at 6pm. So, I have gone out and gotten a tarp to put over the boat. I finished setting it up tonight and I hope I can come home to see it a little bit cooler tomorrow. Oh that's right, I won't be coming home tomorrow. I'll be going to Galveston and doing an overnight at the Elissa. I went so far as to volunteer to be an officer, 1st mate. That means staying up all night tomorrow night and sleeping in the daymen's cabin. And.. getting up in the middle of the night to go stargazing with the Girlscouts. I'm actually looking forward to that bit. I should print out a few star charts. :) I really need to concentrate on learning how to use a sextant. It would be fun to show it off on the overnights. I was hoping to go to a poetry workshop on Saturday, but that will all depend on how dead tired I am when I get home, if I can get home in time to shower. I was really looking forward to that too. Oh well. In other things, there is still ice in the freezer, but it looks like it should be done defrosting in another day or so. I'm tired of having to buy ice. At least I have a good 5 day cooler.
